Introduction and things to do
So here we are! Well! Not yet really, since our point of entry in Australia, Darwin, in the north coast, is still at some little
thousands of kilometers from our final destination. But the flights from the south-east of Asia are well priced til here, so til here we go.
Darwin is well known, amongst the australians, for its specially relaxed atmosphere and slow-paced rythm of life, and also for its extreme and humif heat
that use to suffer, particularly during the tropical humid station (exactly these days we are going, you see...). It's located in the australian
aboriginal land and is the capital of the Northern Territory, a huge state that covers most of the middle and northern part of Australia. Also, all the
area is infested of crocodiles, both fresh and saltwater, so if by any chance we feel like having a little dip in the middle of the very probably unbearable heat, we will
have to do it in a swimming-pool!
There are, that I know of, not special points of interest in Darwin. However, I am sure the whole experience will be interesting enough.
Accomodation
We don't have defined accomodation yet, but being Darwin a popular place among backpackers, it boosts a large number of hostels
that will serve us very well. And not being at all a high season, we are sure they will have plenty of space even if we just turn up!
Getting there and away
Again Tiger Airways will bring us here, in a flight from Singapore that will get here past 12 o'clock in the nightime, so we will have
to manage to get into the city a bit out of time.
We will also leave a bit strangely, in a flight from Virgin Pacific (or something) departing about 1 o'clock, to finally get into Brisbane and finish with
this trip, or, depending on how you look at it, finishing with this leg of this trip!
