Introduction and things to do
Jaipur is the capital and the most populated city in Rajasthan, with about 3 milions and a half inhabitants. It is considered one of
the most chaotic cities in the whole of India, but we hope, by then, to be already used enough to the country's lifestyle, and I don't think it
will affect us that much.
If we have been already in the golden city, the blue city and the white city, now it's the turn for the pink city. And it's not a joke, no, because
many of the buildings in the old part of Jaipur are built in pink marble. And as capital it is, a big part of them are old palaces and residencies of
Maharajas and rulers of the area.
Jaipur is overlooked by Nahargarh, Amber and Jaigarh forts, from which you can have a fabulous panoramic vision of the city, spread under its
feet. The most common way to get to the Amber one, by the way, is riding an elephant. I don't know if it will be a stupid touristy thing more
than anything else, but here it is the information!
Accomodation
Giving the chaos in seems that Jaipur will be, it will be very nice to enjoy an oasis of quietness in the middle of the storm, and this oasis
will be provided to us by the Sunder Palace Hotel, cheap enough and with very good references.
Getting there and away
To not alterate the tradition of getting early into places, we will arrive in Jaipur at 7:10 in the morning, in a night train coming from Udaipur.
Our next destination will be Agra, only 4 hours away, so we will decide on the spot when to go there exactly.
